September is Self Improvement Month
According to Chases Calendar of Events the purpose of Self
Improvement Month is to disseminate information about the importance
of lifelong learning and self improvement.
After the lazy, hazy days of summer many people think of September
as a time for new beginnings.
CEO/Managers
Do
you know where your time goes?
Each
morning YOUR TIME BANK credits you with 86,400 seconds and no
balances are carried to the next day. How much credit are you
wasting?
Where or who do interruptions come from? What
are YOU doing that someone else could do? Remember, delegation frees you from petty details.
Ask
yourself what results you are seeking. How
can you use delegation to achieve them? Do
what you do best and then DELEGATE THE REST.
Be specific when delegating.
What would you focus on if you could
do whatever you wanted?
Set Goals and Prioritize.
Have project
management system and break down project into manageable
segments.
To Do Lists
Brainstorm
UP TO10
TASKS
Prioritize
Can you do them all in one day?
"Techno stress" people use more
technology than necessary. Is technology REALLY saving you time? How much time a day do you spend
processing email?
You owe it to
yourself and your business to make the most of every day. Nancy
Black will help you personalize a timesaving routine/system that
works for you, and improves your bottom line.

Organizing Your Home
Office
Many people put off organizing their
home office until the summer is over. Whether you
have the luxury of a new, or remodeled, room specifically for your
office, or are designating only a small area in a room for your
office, here are some things that are important to consider.
Ask Yourself
What activities will do in your
office? Is the space suited to your needs? What office equipment you will need?
Is the electrical system sufficient
for the technology that you will need? Is the lighting adequate? Can you install the computer yourself? Where you will store supplies?
Create An Action
List
Start with things to buy. Service people to call to schedule
time to meet with them, or to have the work done. Schedule time for tasks that you need
to do. Shop for furniture or office
equipment. Create zones for supplies and tasks, including:
A technology area
An office supplies area
A mail and collating area
Arrange the furniture and office
equipment so that the things you need most often are easy to reach.
Place items by how often they are
used.
Imagine your workspace as your
control tower. Imagine your desk only having on it what you
really need.
Organizing Your Home
September is the opportune time to
organize you home.
Organize Your
Information Overload
It is important to have a paper flow
system for all of the mail and communications that
come into your home. This is the time of year when you are deluged
with notices for events/courses, charitable solicitations,
school/extra curricular notices/papers/rosters, and catalogues.
The best way to keep it under control
is to Create an Action File for papers that you need to
respond to.
Have a Current Reference for
papers that you may refer to within the next six months
or a year. Create Archival Files for
important papers that you need need to keep such as tax related
information, home improvement, financial reports. Set guidelines for
how long you need to keep them.
Organize Magazines and Newsletters
and set guidelines for how long to keep them.
Decrease Clutter in Closets and
Drawers
The change of seasons is an ideal time to
purge clothing items that your children have outgrown, that you are
no longer wearing,
or are looking shopworn.
Organize the Entry/Exit Area
Create systems outgoing/incoming items.
Many people take off their shoes at
the door. You need a system for organizing all the shoes or
everything will end up in a heap.
Your home can be an oasis of calm
in a chaotic world. It you only dream about it, but don’t know
where to begin, help is only a click away. Visit my the
