As we segue from the lazy hazy days of summer to the back to school season, the tasks in many businesses also increase. Consequently, people wonder how they will manage all their work and family responsibilities. To help you make that transition here are some Hassel Free Back to School Tips.

Prevent Morning Madness Getting to School and Work

Make lunches / put lunch money in book bag.
Have lunch treats or snack packs handy.
Put out clothes for next day.
Collect supplies needed for next day.
Put things to take to school in book bag.
Put "Take With" items in designated area.
Sign any papers that need to go to school.
Put non-perishable breakfast foods out.
Set clock radios and alarms.
Bedtime routines.
Set boundaries.

Morning To-Do's

Get yourself ready before waking kids.
Teenagers should get up on their own.
Keep breakfast simple.
Pack perishable foods in back pack.
Do not allow AM TV.
Have specific time to leave.
Check "Take With" area.
Lock door. Turn alarm on, if applicable.

Getting Kids to Lessons and Sports Activities

Have calendar with each family member's activities.
Choose color code for each person.
Plan your schedule so they get there on time.
Arrange for car pools, when possible.
Limit number of activities. Less stress on all of you.

The Homework Horrors

Have specific place for kids to do homework.
Have supplies on hand: # 2 pencils/erasers.
Scissors
Stapler
Ruler
Construction Paper
Magic Markers
Highlighters
Plastic boxes, with sections for supplies, that have a cover, or plastic drawer
units are ideal for storage.
If student uses a binder for homework, put a storage pouch in it for
frequently used supplies.

Middle School and High School

Check out the new locker accessories and products to keep backpacks organized. For more information on these read "The Organized Student."

College Bound

The college "To Buy" lists seem to have everything on them except practical suggestions for organizing academic materials. Although students store their class notes electronically, it is inevitable that they will need to have some information in files. Crates work well for filing papers in hanging file folders.

Color code the files for each course.

Another option is to keep notes in color coded binders.

Be sure to have them stock up on printer cartridges, CD discs, and other supplies to avoid midnight runs for them.
