Postage
Rates Increasing on May 12th
As of May 12, 2008 the new postage rate for first class mail is .42
cents. The USPS has issued Forever Stamps, for only .41 cents, that
are good even if the postage increases
again in the future. Forever Stamps are only being sold for .41
cents until May 12th. More information is available at
http://www.usps.com
USPS does have a way for you to save time and money. Check out
The
Postal Store. For only $1.00 more you can order stamps online and
have them delivered to your mailbox. Just think, one less thing on your
“to do” list.
Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11th
Although we have modern conveniences and sophisticated technology,
that advertising
gurus promised would save us time, many mothers are suffering from
too much to do, too little time to do it in, and too much stuff.
A Maytag ad says it all: “I'm a wife, Mom, President of the PTA,
member of eight book clubs, and candidate for Mayor.”
OK so maybe the mothers you know are not running for Mayor, but they
always feel like they are running, running, running and never have
enough time.
Modern women want to be the perfect parent, excel in their careers,
care for relatives or friends, volunteer for non-profits, exercise,
and enjoy leisure time with family and friends.
Give Moms what they need most today - the gift of time. More time to pamper
themselves and more time to do whatever they want to do.
Gifts of time could be:
-
Create a mail center with stamps,
envelopes, return address labels, and an address book.
-
Set up a Homefile System.
-
Organize her photos: picture frames,
photo albums, scrapbooks, storage boxes, etc.
-
A gift certificate for a massage.
-
Movie passes.
-
Health Club Membership.
-
Manicure/Pedicure.
-
Offer to babysit.
-
A restaurant gift certificate.
Maybe even
a Gift Certificate from Organization Plus to help
her get organized and energized - they always make a great Mother’s Day gift.

What Mothers do not need... More stuff.
More magazines. More things to do!

Case History
SOS from Expectant Mom
The husband of an expectant Mom, who is
an attorney, and mother of a 2 and 4 year old, realized she needed some help
organizing their home before their 3rd child arrived.
The Goal: The goal was to make it easier for Dad,
Grandma, and any other helping hands, to find things when Mom was in the
hospital or busy with the baby.
How We Did It: We focused on organizing the entry way,
1st floor bathroom, kitchen, children’s clothing, and toy areas. I did the hands on organizing so that Mom
could spend some time with the big sisters. We finished just in the nick of
time because her bouncing baby girl arrived ten days early.
Clients Extol Benefits of Being
Organized
It is music to my ears when clients say
“Now that you have cleared the clutter, I feel a new sense of freedom.”
Last week I helped a Mom organize her
boy's toys that were in her living room. Her four-year old son loved his new
Zip Bin Racer -
one of my
favorite "get organized" products. It is a backpack that is shaped like a racing car and it is
designed to store cars in it and when it is unzipped it becomes a playscape.
When someone put other toys in it, he took them out and said “This is only
for my cars.”
Organizing is so easy even a four-year old can learn to do it.
