Organization Plus Celebrates 25 Years
of Organizing Excellence
(October
28, 2007, Beverly, MA)
Organization Plus, based in Beverly, MA, is celebrating the start of its
25th year of organizing excellence. Nancy Black, owner of Organization
Plus, is a Professional Organizer and Business Consultant who
specializes in organizing offices for clients ranging from homebased
sole proprietors to corporate executives, and in helping clients with
time management strategies. Nancy also helps individuals to organize
their homes and plan their schedules. She works with clients either
on-site or via telephone consultations, drawing upon her extensive
knowledge of the organizing products available and her 25 years of
experience developing solutions for organizing challenges in office and
home settings.
Her philosophy is that organizing advice needs to be tailored to suit an
individual’s learning style, work style, and lifestyle. “One-on-one
advice not only gives clients specific actions to take, it also helps
them prioritize the time to implement these actions -- instead of ending
up with another stack of papers,” says Nancy. “You can’t just move the
papers around – you must address the associated time management issues.”
After 25 years in
business, Nancy is most proud of the fact that she has taught people to
appreciate the value of having a more organized lifestyle. Says Nancy:
“Helping people feel more in control of their life, instead of feeling
that life is controlling them, is what Organization Plus is all about.”
Benefits of Getting
Organized
People who have
learned the benefits of being organized are more successful in their
careers, happier with their relationships, and healthier. Here are just
a few examples:
-
One CEO met with
Nancy monthly about her time management challenges, and learned to
delegate some of her tasks to her administrative assistant. This
allowed the CEO to offer new programs to her customers and grow the
business. Meanwhile, the administrative assistant became so proficient
that she was promoted to executive assistant, and ended up delegating
work to her own administrative assistant.
-
The office manager
for an insurance company spent Saturdays doing paperwork in his
office. Nancy created mail processing and paper-flow systems for him
so that he was able to complete his work during the week. He was less
stressed, and his wife and children were thrilled to have his
attention on the weekends.
-
An office worker was
having migraines because the piles of paper in her office were so
overwhelming. After Nancy’s “3 Hour Transformation,” her paper piles
were turned into files and she no longer suffered from migraines.
For “Before and After”
examples of what Nancy has done for her clients, and details on the
“Clutter Chaos Contest” that will award a Three-Hour Transformation to
the winner, see the Organization Plus web site (www.organizationplus.com).
“You Do What?”
When Nancy Black
founded her company in October 1983, she was a true pioneer in the
organizing industry. At the time, there were only about two dozen
professional organizers in the entire United States, with 99% of them in
located in California. In those early days, when Nancy told people that
she was a professional organizer, their response was, “You do what?” She
was determined to help people understand the benefits of using an
organizer’s services, just as they already understood the benefits of
having an accountant and an attorney.
Initially, most
Organization Plus clients were individuals who needed help de-cluttering
their homes. As Nancy became more active in business networking groups,
a new set of clients began to recognize the importance of having an
organized office and the value of getting professional advice on
planning their time. Today, Organization Plus helps businesspeople and
individuals suffering from lack of time, information overload, and “clutteritis.”
Nancy helps her clients get organized and “take back their time” through
onsite visits and telephone consultations.
The organizing
industry has grown to include about 10,000 professional organizers in
the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Organization Plus has changed
with the times and with clients’ needs, and Nancy’s expertise and
ability to keep up with cutting-edge organizing products and techniques
are what set her apart. When Nancy found that many of her clients had
spent hundreds of dollars on organizing products that just didn’t work
for them, she added product research and a web-based product ordering
option to her menu of services. Clients may shop for organizing products
through Nancy’s web site, or have Nancy do the shopping for them.
She also has an extensive network of people who provide other
services her clients may need, including carpenters and computer
consultants.
